Information We Collect:

  • Voluntarily provided information that may include your name, address, phone number, email address, billing and/or credit card information etc. which may be used when you purchase products and/or services and to deliver the services you have requested. 

Use of Information Collected:

  • Washington County Democrats may collect and may make use of personal information to assist in the operation of our organization and to ensure delivery of the services you request. 
  • Washington County Democrats may share your name and contact information with other Democratic political action committees and candidate committees without your express consent.
  • Political donations in the state of Oregon (which includes any transaction you may make on this site) are a matter of public record. Washington County Democrats will share information about you and your purchases/donations with the Oregon Secretary of State, as required by Oregon state law.

Disclosure of Information 

Washington County Democrats may not use or disclose the information provided by you except under the following circumstances: 

  • as necessary to provide services or products you have ordered; 
  • in other ways described in this Policy or to which you have otherwise consented; 
  • in the aggregate with other information in such a way so that your identity cannot reasonably be determined; 
  • as required by law, or in response to a subpoena or search warrant; 
  • to outside auditors who have agreed to keep the information confidential; 
  • as necessary to enforce the Terms of Service; 
  • as necessary to maintain, safeguard and preserve all the rights and property of Washington County Democrats. 

If our personal information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to this website as notification.  Only data collected from the time of the policy change forward will be used for these new purposes. If you want to make sure that you are up to date with the latest changes, we advise you to frequently visit this page.

 

Security

Wherever we collect sensitive information (e.g. credit card information), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the webpage. 

This website also uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for authentication and secure access and communication of credit card and personal information.

Unsubscribe or Opt-Out

Unsubscribe links are provided on all communications sent from this fundraising website to allow all users and visitors to opt-out of future contact at any time. Please note that due to the legal requirements of the state of Oregon, some communications from Washington County Democrats may not allow you the option of opting out. Washington County Democrats will continue to adhere to this Policy with respect to any personal information previously collected.

Notice to Users Outside of the United States

As a political action committee, Washington County Democrats is not allowed to accept donations or any other financial transactions from foreign nationals. If you are a U.S. citizen residing outside the U.S. and you choose to utilize this fundraising site, you are declaring that your contribution does not violate U.S. campaign finance law.

Notice to California Users

The California Consumer Privacy Act, effective Jan 1, 2020 applies to any business, including any for-profit entity that collects consumers' personal data, which does business in California, and satisfies at least one of the following thresholds:

  • Has annual gross revenues in excess of $25 million;
  • Possesses the personal information of 50,000 or more consumers, households, or devices; or
  • Earns more than half of its annual revenue from selling consumers' personal information.


Washington County Democrats is a political action committee, does not meet any of these criteria, and is thus exempt.
However, we recognize the intentions of the Act are to provide California residents with the right to:

  1. Know what personal data is being collected about them
  2. Know whether their personal data is sold or disclosed and to whom.
  3. Say no to the sale of personal data.
  4. Access their personal data.
  5. Request a business to delete any personal information about a consumer collected from that consumer.
  6. Not be discriminated against for exercising their privacy rights.


Washington County Democrats does not rent/lease or sell personal data collected on this website to any for-profit organizations, but may share, sell or rent/lease information about you as described in the sections above and as required by Oregon law.

You can request access to review or correct your personal data collected on this website by calling (503) 626-7018 and asking to speak to the Treasurer. Washington County Democrats is not legally allowed to delete information about you, due to campaign finance laws in the state of Oregon.
